ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A retired police officer who was formerly assigned in the anti-narcotic operations voluntarily surrendered a firearm to the police of Mambusao, Capiz.
Rizaldo Labitan, 72, of Barangay Burias, Mambusao Capiz turned over a .45-caliber pistol without magazine and ammunition.
The surrender of loose firearm is in connection with the campaign of the Philippines National Police’s “Oplan Tokhang batuk sa mga ginadumilian nga Pusil”.
Meanwhile, a man from Maayon town also in Capiz voluntarily surrendered another firearm to the police.
Jose Fernandez of Poblacion llaya, Maayon voluntarily surrendered a 12-guage shotgun to Maayon Municipal Police Station.
According to Fernandez he is no longer interested to own a firearm without permit and license.
The two firearms are set to be turned over to the Capiz Police Provincial Office for proper disposition.
