Is he too Young to be called a superstar? Nah. Trae Young’s for real.
After leading the Atlanta Hawks to two convincing victories against the Chicago Bulls and the Memphis Grizzlies, Young again shot the lights out and poured in 29 points to help them get past the tough Detroit Pistons, 128-120.
It was a clash of two high-octane squads as both teams like to run the floor on the break and look to score the leather as quickly as they can.
Young and Bogdan Bogdanovic engaged in an offensive back-and-forth affair against the Pistons’ Jerami Grant and Josh Jackson who did not back down from the challenge despite the absence of main stars’ Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin.
The shootout however went to Atlanta’s favor who just remained consistent up to the final stretch and were able to have crucial defensive stops that caused Detroit to turn the ball over.
Rajon Rondo played a key role down the stretch, directing traffic while contributing 12 points and eight assists for his new team.
Young and Bogdanovic both scored 29 and 17 respectively while the dynamic duo of Grant and Jackson had 27 apiece.
