The greatest Muay Thai showdown fight fans have been asking for will finally go down.
After a failed negotiation last March due to an injury incident, Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 will now meet inside the famous ONE Championship cage set to take place on September 22, 2023, to be held at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE FC confirmed that Rodtang will be defending his flyweight Mua Thai world title belt against the defending kickboxing king, Superlek, in the card’s main event bout.
Rodtang, the widely-known Muay Thai king of the world, will be seeking to continue his undefeated streak in ONE FC.
Since entering Asia’s biggest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion last 2018, Rodtang is yet to lose a single match and is now unbeaten in 14-straight ONE FC bouts.
Overall, Rodtang now clinched his 271st professional Muay Thai win with 42 losses and is considered a living legend in Thailand.
On the other hand, Superlek, known as “The Kicking Machine”, has finished his last three opponents in ONE FC via way of knockout.
Before taking on Rodtang, Superlek finished Tagir Khalilov last July 14, 2023, in the second round of their flyweight clash.
Superlek also carries an impressive resume heading into his fight against Rodtang and is looking to improve his ONE FC record to 10-1.
Recognized as a high-pressure fighter who likes to gauge his opponents with his thunderous kicks from a distance, Rodtang will have to dig deep to cut through and get to the inside.
ONE FC already released the official match poster for the Rodtang-Superlek mega fight which drew tons of reactions from the MMA community.
Will Rodtang continue his reign in ONE FC or will Superlek become the first man to take him down after five years of dominance?
