Roxas City gets highest audit rating

The Roxas City government hailed the high audit rating it received from the Commission on Audit (COA) for 2021.

In a Facebook post, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said COA bestowed to the city government its unmodified opinion or the highest rating from the audit agency.

Dadivas said the rating is proof of the transparency and good management of the current administration.

“Ang unmodified opinion amo ang highest audit rating nga ginahatag sang Commission on Audit. Klaro nga nangin maayo ang financial statements sang syudad. Pamatuod ini sang tampad, matinlo kag wala korapsyon naton nga pagdumala” he added.

The audit was conducted in accordance with the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions and to ascertain the level of assurance that may be placed on the management’s assertion on the financial statements; determine the propriety of transactions; recommend improvement opportunities; and determine the extent of the implementation of prior years’ audit recommendations.

An unqualified or unmodified opinion is given when auditors conclude that the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatements, which could arise from either error or fraud, according to the IPSAS.
