Boxing sensation Ryan Garcia bared that he will no longer fight his childhood idol Manny Pacquiao and will focus on other opponents instead.

Through All Access Elite Boxing’s social media, the young lightweight contender confirmed that his chase for his dream fight is already over after announcing the highly-anticipated showdown for the ages a few months ago.

“To all my fans and supporters, my fight with Manny Pacquiao is not happening right now,” expressed Garcia on All Access’ Facebook page.

Garcia’s statements came after Top Rank boxing promotions head honcho Bob Arum shared that he is near to staging the fight that everybody asked for the past three years: Pacquiao against Terence Crawford.

Arum confirmed in a recent interview that he is a step away from supplying the $40 million for Pacquiao and the $10 million for Crawford.

If Top Rank can pull this off, a high possibility of staging the mega showdown this year will happen.

“I tried my best after getting the call to fight him but didn’t happen due to some issues I didn’t expect to come up but I’m already working on the next fight. I will always see Manny as an inspiration and someone who is a legend and that I respect. I wish the best for him in life and boxing,” closed Garcia.
