BACOLOD City – Three persons were arrested in a follow-up operation at Stio Selos, Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental last Saturday for their alleged involvement in the death of security guard Jesson Jabison, 30, of Barangay Nagasi.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, identified the suspects as Alexis Roquero, John Rey Ortega, and Remy Valdevieso.

Guadalupe said the suspects’ group, along with their companion Niel Ortega, and the victim’s group along with his three other companions were having a drinking session separately in a store when a misunderstanding ensued between them.

“Nag sinuya-ay bala siguro, tapos nakainom na,” he added.

Guadalupe said the two groups figured into a commotion, prompting the guard’s companions to escape.

However, they didn’t notice that the victim was left at the store.

“Pinagtulungan na nung mga suspects kasi naiwan pala siya (victim),” Guadalupe said.

The victim suffered five stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Guadalupe said that it was Niel who allegedly stabbed the victim. He is still at large.

The bladed weapon used was not recovered from the scene, he added.
