Filipina skateboarding sensation Margielyn Didal is back in her hometown of Cebu, City and is planning to end her 2021 Tokyo Olympics preparations there.

Although Didal is already initially qualified as the world’s no. 14 ranked skater out of the projected 20 Tokyo participants, she must maintain her current place or go higher in order to finalize her Olympics berth.

According to SKATE Pilipinas president Carl Sambrano, there will still be four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT) and the world championship before the 2021 Tokyo event.

With multiple tournaments still to be staged, Didal must keep earning points to maintain her world no. 14 rank.

“I’ve been visualizing participating in it. I don’t know what to feel and what to expect this coming Tokyo Olympics, but I think it’s going to be big because the whole world is preparing,” said Didal.

Along with Didal in her intensive training camp in Cebu are world-renowned PH skaters Cindy Serna and Mac Feliciano.
