Slain NPA rebel in Himamaylan clash identified

BACOLOD City – The Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde) has identified the alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA) who was killed in a clash with military troopers at Sitio Ulo-Tuburan, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on May 3.

The slain rebel was identified by former NPA rebels and his family as Crispin Tingal alias “Padon,” 36, of Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.

According to the Army, Tingal was an alleged member of SDG Platoon, Central Negros 2, Komiteng Rehiyon Negros Cebu Bohol Siquijor (CN2, KR-NCBS).

His remains were already claimed by his family, assisted by the local government of Himamaylan.

The clash also wounded two soldiers and a female civilian who was hit by a stray bullet. They are already stable in a hospital, the Army said.
