The Social Security System (SSS) continues to serve show cause orders to erring employers in Kabankalan City duringits Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign on Thursday, Sept 22, 2022.
Six employers with a total delinquency of over P962,000 were visited by the RACE Team led by SSS Vice President for Visayas West 1 Division Lilani B. Benedian and Operations Legal Services Department II Acting Head Atty. Raul P. Cinco on this year’s 9th operation in Negros Island.
“These employers failed to remit the SSS contributions of their employees, thereby depriving them of their benefits and loan privileges. We are here to remind all of them that despite of the circumstances, they are mandated by the law to fulfill their obligations as employers,” Benedian said.
Under Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018, employers should register their businesses on its first day of operation; report employees on their first day of employment; deduct from the employee’s monthly salaries their share of Social Security (SS) and Employee’s Compensation (EC) contributions; and remit these including their share as employers to the SSS on or before the prescribed deadline.
The employers were given a non-extendible 15 days from the receipt of the notice to coordinate with their assigned Accounts Officer in SSS Kabankalan branch to reconcile their records and arrange the delinquency settlement schedule. Otherwise, SSS will be compelled to take appropriate legal actions against them.
“The payment schedule shall be in accordance with the Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Program (PRRP 3) – Enhanced Installment Payment Program payment terms ranging from nine to 60 months, depending on the total amount of their delinquency. The program will run until November 21, 2022,” Benedian concluded.
