A barangay tanod from Carles, Iloilo accused of child abuse was arrested early morning of June 1, 2020.
Joe Art Bartolome, 29, of Barangay Poblacion, is facing charges for violation of Section 10(a) of RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) docketed as Criminal Case No. 2019-9278.
Judge Oscar Leo Billena of the Regional Trial Court (RTC-6) Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Jan. 10, 2020. A bail bond of 80,000 was recommended for his temporary liberty.
The case was filed after Bartolome responded to a commotion that happened in 2019. He was accused of hitting a minor.
The suspect is now detained.
