A 13-year-old boy and his grandfather suffered injuries after their motorcycle was sideswiped by a pick-up truck Sunday in San Enrique, Iloilo.

Police identified the victims as Denden, the motorcycle driver, and 67-year-old Reynaldo Juaniza, both residents of Barangay Cabugao Nuevo, San Enrique.

Major Gilbert Baldevarona, San Enrique police chief, said both suffered minor injuries. They were rushed to a district hospital before they were transferred to a hospital in Iloilo City.

They are expected to be released from hospital confinement soon.

According to reports, the duo came from the town market when an Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck sideswiped them at Barangay Poblacion Ilaya.

The truck was driven by Regina Cordero, 46, a businesswoman and resident of Barangay Compo, San Enrique.

Cordero came from Passi City and was on her way home when she hit the victims’ motorcycle that was crossing an intersection.

Baldevarona said Cordero and the victims have already agreed on an out-of-court settlement.

Investigators have yet to decide on the disposition of Denden’s case since the teenager was driving without a license.
