BACOLOD CITY – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has opened doors for countless Negrenses through its skills training and development programs.

Lacson emphasized that TESDA has helped Negrenses find employment, start businesses, and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

He reaffirmed his support for TESDA during the 20th General Directorate Conference 2025 held at Seda Hotel in Bacolod City on Wednesday morning, March 19.

Lacson also noted that Negros Occidental takes pride in having TESDA Director General Secretary Kiko Benitez, the former representative of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental.

“His leadership, dedication, and vision have already contributed greatly to our province, and we are confident that the entire country will now benefit from his skills and unwavering commitment to advancing technical education and skills development,” he said.

“The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental recognizes the immense impact of technical and vocational education in driving economic growth, reducing unemployment, and improving the quality of life for our people,” he added.

The event was attended by TESDA leaders, officials, and other stakeholders.

On his official social media page, Benitez expressed his happiness about returning to Negros and visiting Bacolod, Silay, Victorias, and the town of E.B. Magalona.

He was accompanied by Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara as they visited enterprises and schools.

Benitez said these visits allow him to assess the current situation of schools firsthand and explore ways to improve their conditions.
