The Medical City (TMC) Iloilo and the PHINMA-University of Iloilo officially entered into a partnership to develop nursing students and provide them better opportunities after their graduation.
The said partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing event attended by representatives of PHIMA-UI led by its Chief Operating Officer Ofelia Odilao-Bisnar and TMC Iloilo headed by its Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Ray Villa held on December 6 at TMC Iloilo.
Under the partnership, graduating nursing students from PHINMA-UI will undergo their clinical trainings at TMC Iloilo through the supervision of the hospital’s Nursing Services Division. Moreover, TMC Iloilo shall allow fresh graduates of the university to work in the hospital as nurse residents under the Clinical Nurse Residency Program (CNRP) and shall enrol them to a partner Nursing Licensure Examination Review Center in preparation for the Nursing Licensure Examination.
“Through this partnership, we are ensuring a bright future ahead for the nursing graduates of PHINMA-UI. While we serve as a training ground for them to become globally competitive, we also provide them with the opportunity to earn while they are still preparing for their Board Examination,” TMC Iloilo CEO Dr. Felix Ray Villa noted.
He added that TMC Iloilo’s partnership with PHINMA-UI is the hospital’s way of making sure that the Ilonggo nurses will have the right knowledge and trainings for them to become highly skilled healthcare professionals.
“This is our commitment as a healthcare institution as we continuously innovate to provide the best care to our patient partners,” he concluded.
