The TNT Tropang Giga will be honoring one of their greatest big men on June 28, 2023, via a jersey retirement ceremony at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Harvey Carey, an instrumental piece in TNT’s dynasty a decade ago, will be present in the halftime PBA On Tour Preseason matchup between the Tropang Giga and the Meralco Bolts to witness his no. 4 jersey immortalized.

The power forward played all of his 17 years under the TNT franchise and is widely known as one of the most professional veterans you can ever ask for in a PBA locker room.

Carey was drafted by TNT during the 2003 PBA Rookie Draft and immediately made an impact when he helped the team win the All-Filipino Cup in the same year.

The fourth overall pick was tasked to anchor the TNT defense during his prime glory days and was also an effective rebounder.

His consistent energy and tenacity earned him a spot in the PBA Mythical Second Team at the end of his first year.

Throughout the course of his 17-year run with TNT, he is remembered as a humble leader who helped his teammates get back into the game.

“We would like to thank Harvey for everything he has done for TNT Tropang GIGA. He has been a consummate leader, proven winner, great teammate, and an excellent basketball player,” said TNT team manager Gabby Cui.

During the past PBA bubble season, Carey called it the last conference of his career.

Carey retired as a seven-time champion, a PBA All-Star, and a former Defensive Player of the Year – all achieved in white and yellow.
