A local government job hire was arrested following a police anti-narcotics operation on the afternoon of June 29 in Dueñas, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as alias Jonathan, 29, a traffic auxiliary residing in Poblacion D, Dueñas.

Members of Dueñas Municipal Police Station apprehended Jonathan in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Poblacion C.

He allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,500 to an undercover police officer.

Upon frisking, police found four more sachets of suspected shabu and other non-drug items on the suspect.

Captain Jesus Batilante Jr., Dueñas police chief, reported that the seized drugs weighed around 6 grams, with a standard drug price of P40,800.

While newly identified, Jonathan is considered a high-value target. He had no previous drug-related arrests but had been under drug monitoring for about a month prior to his capture.

Jonathan allegedly sourced his supply from Iloilo City, where his massage therapist wife resides.

The suspect is currently detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
