Two collared for illegal drug trade in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two individuals were arrested over the weekend in separate drug buy-bust operations by police in Pilar and Cuartero towns.

Around 10 grams of suspected illegal drugs were recovered from a former “drug surrenderer” who was arrested Sunday afternoon at Brgy. Dulangan Pilar, Capiz.

The operation was jointly conducted by Pilar Municipal Police Station together with counterparts from Pontevedra, President Roxas and Pilar, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO).

Recovered from the suspect were 5 sachets of suspected shabu, P2,500 marked money and a motorcycle.

The police said the suspect was listed as street level individual target and is presently in the custody of Pilar Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old person was arrested Saturday afternoon, November 18, in another drug buy-bust operation conducted by police at Barangay Nagba, Cuartero, Capiz.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Nonoy” of Brgy. Balingasag in Cuartero town.

Recovered from Nonoy two sachets of suspected illegal drugs, P500 marked money, a motorcycle and several drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is presently detained at Cuarterio Municipal Police Station while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him today, November 20, before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
