Two elderly women killed in road mishap

Two elderly ladies died in two separate vehicular incidents in Iloilo province.

The victims were identified as Mardi Bravo, 62, of Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas, Iloilo and Delia Pacaco, 81, of Barangay Dawis, Pototan, Iloilo.

Bravo, a day care worker, was hit by a vehicle that was parking in front of the municipal hall of Dumangas around 10:45 a.m. of Oct 24, 2022.

Sandro Deypalubos, 40, a driver of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and resident of Barangay Dacutan, Dumangas, said he did not see the victim as he was looking for a parking slot.

The victim was taken to Ramon D. Duremdes District Hospital in Dumangas but was declared dead at 2:07 p.m. of the said day.

Meanwhile, Pacaco was hit by a motorcycle as she was crossing the road at Dawis village around 6:40 a.m. of October 25.

Motorcycle driver Albert Acsi, 39, of Barangay Mantulang, Passi City, Iloilo, was on his way to Iloilo City when the incident happened.

The victim suffered injuries on the head and fractures on her left hand and left leg.

She was rushed to Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan but she did not pull through.

On the other hand, Acsi sustained abrasions on the upper portion of his lips and was taken to New Lucena Polytechnic Hospital for treatment.
