TWO students were arrested in an anti-narcotics operation evening of Nov. 7, 2019 in City Proper district, Iloilo City.
Hanz Christian Seguia, 20, of Barangay San Nicolas, Oton, Iloilo and John Cidrie Cornelio, 18, Bo. Obrero, Lapuz, Iloilo City allegedly sold drugs via online messaging service Messenger.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Pablito, Iloilo City Police Station 1, said Seguia is a Grade 12 student of St. Robert’s International Academy while Cornelio is a Grade 11 student of Iloilo Doctors’ College.
They allegedly sold dried marijuana leaves for P1,100 to a police poseur buyer at a convenience store in Gen. Luna Street around 8:30 p.m. of Thursday.
The youngsters, Pablito said, used social media, particularly Messenger, in their transactions.
Cornelio made the deal and accepted the money during the trade.
“He will assess if the transaction is clean before calling in Seguia to bring the item,” Pablito said.
The two youngsters are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
