The United States will lead discussions on nuclear energy on the opening day of the Philippine International Nuclear Supply Chain Forum 2024 (PINSCF 2024), which will take place from Nov. 13 to 15 at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City.
This three-day event will feature five countries with advanced nuclear industries—namely the United States, Canada, France, South Korea, and Japan. Participants from the public and private sectors will explore topics such as technical innovations, regulatory frameworks, and the role of nuclear energy in national energy strategies.
“The unique characteristics of each nation—whether in terms of geography, economic development, or environmental priorities—offer valuable insights as we build the foundation for the Philippines’ emerging nuclear industry,” the Department of Energy said. The department sees the event as an opportunity to tailor the country’s approach to nuclear energy based on global best practices.
The U.S. has been a key player in nuclear energy for over 60 years and is the world’s largest producer of nuclear power, contributing nearly 20% of its electricity. Nuclear energy is a crucial part of America’s strategy to cut carbon emissions and combat climate change.
Nearly 20 American companies, representing various sectors of the nuclear supply chain, will attend the forum. U.S. government officials will also participate in panels and matchmaking sessions with Philippine business leaders, aimed at fostering new commercial partnerships.
Public and private sector representatives, industry leaders, and media members can register for the event through nuclearforumph.com.
