US IT firm opens new office in Taguig, hiring 250 Filipino IT experts

BOI and OSAPIEA joins the IT By Design Team during the inauguration of their new office space in Taguig City which boasts promising opportunities for aspiring Filipino Cloud engineers.

IT By Design (ITBD), a Managed Service Provider (MSP) registered with the Board of Investments (BOI), unveiled its new office space in Taguig City on April 5, 2024, signaling a significant expansion in the Philippines.

This development follows the company’s participation in the Presidential Visit to New York last year and aligns with the government’s push for high-technology services.

The opening ceremony saw participation from key figures including Trade Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head, Ceferino S. Rodolfo, and Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAPIEA) Director Leslie Vanessa C. Lim, alongside ITBD Founder and CEO, Sunny Kaila.

Undersecretary Rodolfo highlighted the impact of foreign direct investments on the local economy.

“Each additional job created is crucial and significantly enhances the quality of life for Filipino families. It represents not only economic advancement but also the realization of dreams and potential for a brighter future,” he said in a press statement.

The new facility is part of ITBD’s plan to create 250 job opportunities for Filipino IT professionals, increasing its initial 15 positions significantly. “Our customers in the US are asking for Filipino talents, which is why we’ve decided to expand our operations in the Philippines,” said CEO Sunny Kaila. “We’re also bringing in our AI experts from the US to build the capability of Filipino cloud engineers and make them even more competitive as demands for IT jobs continue to grow because of AI.”

ITBD’s services range from technology and infrastructure design to cybersecurity and cloud services, and the company is actively recruiting for various roles including Computer Engineers, Network Engineers, and Software Development Engineers.

The firm promises to provide 100% export services to U.S.-based small and medium-sized businesses and aims to attract more clients by strengthening its tech talent in the Philippines. Located at the Philplans Corporate Center in Bonifacio Global City, the new office has a total capacity of 250 seats and offers strategic access to local amenities and transportation.

Leslie Lim, OSAPIEA Chief of Staff, praised the investment: “Your investment is making a real impact—creating jobs and boosting our industry. The Government will continue to support projects such as these, because when your business succeeds, so do our talented workforce.”

Further expanding its commitment, ITBD plans to establish a similar facility in Clark, Pampanga, enhancing its presence and support for IT talent across the Philippines.
