Regional Partylist Uswag Ilonggo formally joins the 2022 elections by filing its certificate of nomination and acceptance with the Commission on Elections central office in Metro Manila today, October 8, 2021.
The filing coincides with the birthday of Iloilo Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. who also formalized his reelection bid today. Gov. Defensor is also the regional chairman of Uswag Ilonggo.
Atty. Jeric Jucaban will file the partylist’s COC at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City, where the Commission on Elections had set up a tent for the filing due to the threat of COVID-19.
Uswag Ilonggo aims to “elevate the lives of every Ilonggo through programs that promote change, inclusivity, and progress throughout Western Visayas.”
The partylist’s first two nominees are businessman James “Jojo” Ang Jr., and Raisa Maria Lourdes Treñas-Chu.
The other nominees are Concordio Gregori Gorriceta, Jesus R. Marquez, and Atty. Jeric J. Jucaban.
