BACOLOD City – The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC), both chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, held free vaccination for priority groups at Ayala Malls Capitol Central Monday.
This is to accommodate the remaining frontline healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3) who have yet to be inoculated against COVID-19, the EOC said in a press statement.
The vaccination at Ayala Malls started on May 8, 2021 with 280 vaccinees on that day.
Facilitating the activity today were City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of EOC and coordinator of CoVaC; and EOC deputy for medical Dr. Chris Sorongon.
The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come, first-served sequence based on the city’s registration data.
Only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from EOC informing them of their appointments will be accommodated.
Last week, the EOC also held a free vaccination for priority groups at the SM mall here.
But it was suspended on Friday due to crowd protocol problems.
The EOC also reported that the Bacolod COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC) has administered 12,473 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines to priority groups like frontline healthcare workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities, as of May 6, 2021. (With a report from PIO)
