The Miss Iloilo Pageant Production led by chairpersons Sarah O. Pena and Beverly “Pangging” Rosales and their creative team showcased one of the 2021 Digital Dinagyang celebration highlights – a vibrant fashion show at the sprawling Festive Mall’s grounds!
The 41-meter fashion runway featured Dinagyang Warrior costumes by Ilonggo fashion guru Tata Pinuela.
“Virtual Warriors Fashion Show” was also held in honor of medical frontliners.
“We have gone virtual. For now, this is the best way for us to celebrate. Dinagyang comes once a year and it being a religious festival, we cannot let this pass. Together with Festive Walk Iloilo, Miss Iloilo faces the challenge head on with the ‘Dinagyang Warriors Fashion Show’ that can be seen through digital platforms. Combining the theme of ‘Kasanag kag Kalipay’ of Festive Walk Iloilo and the heartfelt branding of Miss Iloilo the event will be a celebration as it pays homage to our frontliners and the women warriors,” Madame Sarah O. Peña said.
Beverly “Pangging” Rosales added: “History tells us that women in Panay have always been strong. They were warriors in the sense that they championed nature while healing not only the land, but their people. Women as shamans were leaders of our island. They fought to preserve their culture and their way of life.”
This historic fashion spectacle was choreographed by the multi-awarded Romel Flogen and directed by Kevin Pison Piamonte.
Gracing the colorful spectacle were Iloilo City lone district Rep. Jamjam Baronda, Iloilo City Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, Iloilo Festival Foundation Inc. Chairman Judgee Lopez Peña and President Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida.
