BACOLOD City – Former Negros Occidental congressman Alfredo Benitez said that the provincial government is in need of contact tracers for its COVID-19 contract tracing division.

Benitez, provincial consultant on economic affairs, said the provincial government is also looking for nurses, medical technicians, and information technology personnel.

He said those who are interested can submit their applications to the Capitol building in this city.

Earlier, Governor Eugenio Lacson said that the provincial government is hiring people to help address the unemployment problem caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

But he clarified that “we hire people to work, not just for accommodation.”

Contact tracers are healthcare personnel who track down the close contacts of individuals who tested positive for the virus.
