Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park has ushered in the brightest Christmas celebration in Iloilo City by simultaneously lighting up over 1 million lights and lanterns, as it looks to inspire hope and optimism among Ilonggos amid the challenges of the pandemic.

Paying homage to Ilonggo’s resilience and dedication to rebuilding the community, Iloilo’s premier business district and lifestyle destination is dazzling visitors with its sparkling Christmas lights displays, lighted installations and attractions sprinkled across the 72-hectare township development’s main roads, buildings and landmarks, including Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, Courtyard by Marriott, Festive Walk Iloilo, Iloilo Business Park Showroom and its office, and residential towers.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas; Atty. Joebert Peñaflorida, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo president; Dr. Sandra Sarabia Gomez, PCCO chairpersons; and Karmela Jesema, Festive Walk Iloilo general manager, led the ceremonial lighting of Iloilo City’s biggest lighted patrol display in Festive Walk Parade.

The main star of Iloilo Business Park’s Christmas attractions, Festive Walk Iloilo’s Sparkling Parade of Holiday Lights at Festive Walk Parade is made up of over 750 lighted parols or traditional Filipino lanterns.

The colorful lanterns, measuring from 2 feet to six feet in height, were handcrafted by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Iloilo and Negros.

Apart from the Sparkling Parade of Holiday Lights, guests will also be treated to a marvelous holiday experience at a Gingerbread House display located at the IBP Sales and Information Center Car Park.

“One single source of light, when coupled with others, will be enough to bring warmth and brightness to everyone. As we light up around 1 million lights across Iloilo Business Park, we look to spark hope and optimism among Ilonggos, whose indomitable fighting spirit remains an important cornerstone of the city’s road to economic recovery,” says Jennifer Palmares-Fong, Megaworld Visayas’ vice president for sales and marketing.

With Ilonggos’ health and safety as the top priority and in partnership with the Iloilo City government, Iloilo Business Park implements standard health and safety protocols, such as mandatory temperature checks, footwear and hand sanitation, wearing of face masks, and strict observance of social distancing.
