2GO, the Philippines’ leading end-to-end transportation and logistics solutions provider, part of the esteemed SM Group, is joining forces with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to empower online entrepreneurs in Central Luzon to expand their reach to the vibrant markets of Visayas and Mindanao (VisMin).
This strategic partnership has given rise to the 2GO Getters community, a network dedicated to connecting small business owners and fostering their growth. The initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs venture beyond their local boundaries and tap into a national marketplace through a comprehensive understanding of e-commerce and digital marketing strategies.
Frederic DyBuncio, President and CEO of 2GO, underlined the broader implications of this partnership, stating, “Our commitment to boosting the local MSME sector goes beyond mere business; it’s about igniting aspirations, forging new connections, and ultimately enhancing life quality. By backing local ventures, we invest in innovation and create opportunities, setting the stage for inclusive and sustainable economic progress that uplifts communities and has the potential to benefit the entire nation.”
In a series of workshops facilitated in collaboration with DTI Central Luzon, business owners gained valuable insights into crafting a robust online presence, mastering the art of online merchandising, and navigating the intricacies of the shipping and delivery experience. This all-encompassing approach is designed to improve the online shopping experience, thereby strengthening customer loyalty and support.
Warren Patrick T. Serrano, Division Chief of the SME Development Division at the DTI Philippines Region III, highlighted the importance of such educational opportunities, particularly for micro and small entrepreneurs. “These workshops provide ongoing mentorship and keep business owners informed about the latest advertising trends and techniques. A partnership with a dependable logistics provider is crucial, as it guarantees safe and reliable product deliveries, supporting businesses as they expand and establish a robust foundation,” Serrano explained.
Participants at the 2GO Getters Workshop also included representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), along with beneficiaries eager to gain knowledge about business growth and enhance their online entrepreneurship skills.
With a robust network of nearly 200 2GO outlets across the region, including those in major SM malls, 2GO stands as a key player in promoting regional trade. Its extensive experience in cargo movement and nationwide coverage uniquely position it to stimulate business connections across Central Luzon and beyond.
Blessie Cruz, Head of the 2GO Retail Business Unit, emphasized the company’s role in the business ecosystem. “We see ourselves as catalysts for businesses of all sizes. Our mission transcends the mere transportation of goods—it’s about encouraging greater regional trade. As digital retail enablers, we facilitate the smooth transition of goods, ensuring that online sales translate into successful offline transactions. Our focus is firmly on supporting our partners’ operations and enhancing seamless commerce,” Cruz said.
The concerted efforts of 2GO and DTI underscore a significant stride in broadening the horizons for local businesses in the Philippines, paving the way for a more connected and economically vibrant future.
