“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
If someone works hard, there will be nowhere to go but up.
For the past months, Ilonggo Taekwondo athletes under the Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) gym trained and worked their hearts out in preparation for the biggest tournaments in the PH.
With their labor bearing fruit, these kids not only impressed in tournaments but won in dominating fashion.
November was even more special as four kins from the MVP gym were able to qualify as members of the National Team Training Pool.
For the Kyorugi category, Sophia Grace Go was ranked as the number 1 in the middleweight division and Angela Joy Marie Bermejo ranked third in the junior flyweight division.
For Poomsae, Cyd Edryc Esmaña ranked second in the cadet boys and Julianna Martha Uy ranked third in cadet girls.
Notable mentions from the MVP family include: Niesha Kariz Pequierda ranked 8 (finalist), Crisgel Castro ranked 6 (finalist), Joshua Cachero ranked 7 (finalist), and Roivic Decafe as a quarter-finalist.
“I told my jins, the one who deserves the slot is the one who shows BIG heart while fighting, so fight with all your heart and trust God! To be honest sir super happy gid ako sa achievements nila. All those hardwork during preparations and ang pag balik-balik namon sa National competitions para maka medal kag ma qualify since only gold and silver lang from any National PTA Taekwondo event ang pwede maka join sa evaluations, that’s why salute man ako sa mga parents nila nga ara gid nga nagahatag sang support nila. As the head coach, my ultimate dream for our jins in their taekwondo journey is makita ko sila nga maging part sang National Team then naga compete sa international level carrying our flag,” Mr. MVP himself, Mark V. Pinggol told the Daily Guardian in an interview.
