BACOLOD City – Ninety village officials and workers of Pahanocoy underwent a random drug test at the barangay gymnasium here on Monday.
Of the total figure, 11 members are from the barangay council, 19 administrative staff, 16 health workers, 27 watchmen, six solid waste personnel, nine members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) council, and two other personnel.
Barangay Kagawad Eric Magbanua, said they are the first barangay out of 61 villages here that conducted the drug test this year.
He said results of the urine samples submitted for the test will be released after two weeks.
The objective of the said initiative is to assure the public that their “public servants” are fit to perform and deliver drug-free, reputable, and qualified public service.
This is also to assure the public that the barangay is a drug-free and safe workplace.
Magbanua said that Pahanocoy village is also being poised to be drug-cleared.
