921 Capicenos receive DOLE-TUPAD assistance

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – More than 900 Capiceños are beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program.

Joselito dela Banda, Provincial Director of DOLE-Capiz told reporters here that each of the 921 beneficiaries received P4,500.

The agency had released some P4 million for the program through the help of various senators and Pinuno Party List Rep. Ivan Howard Guinto.

Dela Banda is hoping that through the program, the agency could help the beneficiaries by employing them based on their respective skills.

He clarified that the beneficiaries could avail of the same assistance next year by amending the present guidelines.

The program was made possible through the initiative of Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager John Beldia in coordination with Capiz senior board member Jose Fulgencio “Pepe” Del Rosario and Governor Fredenil Castro.

Records showed that 443 beneficiaries were from Roxas City, 98 from Panay, 99 from Pilar, 191 from Pres. Roxas and 20 from Panay.
