Hong Kong is a city filled with skyscrapers, hundreds of people in the streets from left to right going in and about with their busy lives, a city with culinary wonders, Michelin restaurants, rooftop bars and high-end stores everywhere. But Hong Kong can never be China in the sense that everything here is expensive. It’s my fourth time here in Hong Kong and every visit is a different experience. One of the many unforgettable moments I have in Hong Kong was when I was on top of Ritz Carlton overlooking a stunning and beaming city. As I took a bite of my dessert, for a second everything felt like it was in slow motion. The pork buns that I had from Cheung Hing Kee and the noodles from Putien melted my tiredness away. The dumplings from Mott 32 forever changed my dumpling experience. “Mmm namit” was an expression Hong Kong never failed to make me utter.
Going on a trip to Hong Kong? Here are the places I recommend you visit:
- Ritz Carlton – You can have afternoon tea at their lounge or a cocktail at their rooftop bar, Ozone.
- K11 Musea Mall – located in Tsim Sha Tsui, this is by far one of the most beautiful malls I’ve seen so far.
- In the mood for drinks and some nightlife? Head on to Lan Kwai Fong to sample Hong Kong’s premier nightlife destination.
- Hollywood Central offers many Instagrammable paintings
- Tung Chung if you are into outlet-shopping
- PMQ – a historic site with a Grade III listed building, the old Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters, now used as a mixed-use venue for arts and design.
