COVID-19 cases in Roxas City rise to 116

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) here rose to 116 after 8 new cases were reported Thursday.

As of 3 pm yesterday, the city has 35 active cases, 69 recoveries and 12 deaths.

In the official statement of Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, two of the eight new cases died before the results of their Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (RT-PCR) were released.

 

Following are the new cases:

Case # 109: a 25-year-old male from Brgy. Tanque, Roxas City working at the Capiz Provincial Capitol;

Case # 110: a 34-year-old male from Brgy. IX, Roxas City working in a private hospital;

Case # 111: a 37-year-old male from Brgy. Bolo, Roxas City with close contact to a confirmed case. He is asymptomatic and was brought to the quarantine facility of the city in Hortus Botanicus;

Case # 112: a 27-year-old male from Sitio Tambak, Rizal Street, Roxas City with close contact to a confirmed case. He is asymptomatic and quarantined at Hortus Botanicus;

Case # 113: a 40-year-old male and resident of Legazpi, Ilaya here who underwent RT-PCR Test on August 27 and the results was released on September 10. He is asymptomatic and under quarantine;

Case # 114: a lady with mental defect, no permanent home and family. She was brought and admitted to RMPH;

Case # 115: a 60-year-old female from Brgy. Baybay, Roxas City with no travel history but has family coming in and out. She died and was buried last September 7. Her family underwent home quarantine while awaiting the results;

Case # 116: an 80-year-old female from Brgy. Cagay, Roxas City, with no travel history but she has family staying and visiting her. She died and was immediately cremated last August 27. Her close contacts are under quarantine.
