An Oplan Tokhang surrenderer was arrested for allegedly selling dried marijuana leaves afternoon of June 22 in Miag-ao, Iloilo.

Jun McNiel Jangit, 30, a resident of Barangay Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City, was collared as he was about to deliver a “client’s order” at Zulueta Extension in Barangay Bolho, Miag-ao.

Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and Miag-ao Police Station arrested the suspect after weeks of surveillance.

Recovered from Jangit’s possession were a ziplock plastic bag containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, the P8,100 marked money, a weighing scale box containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, another piece of dried marijuana leaf, glass tubes, a weighing scale, a mobile phone, 200 cash, identification card, lighter, and a bubble wrap.

The seized leaves were valued at P15,000.

Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said Jangit usually employed “no contact” policy in transacting with his customers.

The buyer usually sends the payment through money remittance services. Jangit will then send the item via courier.

Jangit is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
