Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) proudly participated in the 2024 Regional Science and Technology Week, hosted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI, at the University of Antique in Sibalom, Antique.
The event, held from August 22 to 24, 2024, showcased a wide range of agricultural, technological, digital, and community innovations.
ISUFST’s delegation, led by Dr. Joana Paula B. Biñas, Director of the University’s Extension Services and Community Development units, included dedicated research and development staff as well as extension workers.
During the event, ISUFST highlighted its significant contributions to the region in fisheries science and technology.
The university showcased its innovative research projects, technological advancements, and community development initiatives, all aimed at addressing the pressing challenges faced by local communities and promoting sustainable development.
Dr. Biñas emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and community development in driving progress and improving lives.
“Research and innovation are the cornerstones of progress. Investing in these areas can help develop innovative solutions to address the challenges we face and create a better future for our communities,” Dr. Biñas said.
The Regional Science and Technology Week provided a valuable platform for ISUFST to collaborate with other institutions, share knowledge, and explore potential partnerships.
