Teleperformance (TP) in the Philippines has been recognized for its commitment to inclusion and diversity, winning a Gold Anvil Award for its TP Skills Training to Employment Program (TP STEP) at the 60th Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).
The program was also a top finalist for the Grand Anvil Award, solidifying TP’s position as a leader in corporate social responsibility and good governance.
TP was the only BPO company among the Anvil’s top awardees, which honor outstanding public relations programs and tools through a rigorous selection process conducted by PR experts and a distinguished multi-sectoral jury.
TP STEP is a flagship initiative under TP’s Impact Sourcing program, designed to provide underprivileged individuals with future-ready skills and employment opportunities in the contact center industry.
The program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) by creating meaningful job opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), individuals from underserved communities, long-term unemployed individuals, and former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Since its launch in 2023, TP STEP has partnered with 25 community-based organizations, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) training centers to bring the program to various communities.
A key milestone in 2024 was TP’s partnership with Pasig City, which achieved an impressive 88% hire rate, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness in connecting individuals to employment.
Following this success, TP plans to expand TP STEP to other key areas, including Quezon City, Taguig City, Pampanga, and Davao.
“Winning this award is a proud moment for all of us at TP as it affirms our commitment to creating a truly inclusive workplace and driving meaningful change in society,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines.
“This also reflects the dedication and shared vision of our teams and partners in empowering individuals with opportunities to transform their lives.”
Empowering Filipino Talent in the Countryside
Through TP for All, its Impact Sourcing program, TP continues to connect world-class Filipino talent from the provinces to career opportunities in the global IT-BPM industry.
By complementing the government’s push for countryside development in Visayas and Mindanao, TP has successfully hired hundreds of individuals from non-urban communities, benefiting thousands of families and generating indirect jobs in these regions.
TP remains committed to using its business as a force for good, improving people’s lives, communities, and the environment.
