Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is back on track and did not waste any time joining another professional tournament after climbing back against Romanian opponent, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the $25,000 Trophee de la Ville.
Eala was fresh off participating in the three-leg W15 Manacor tournament which lasted for three weeks in Mallorca Spain and now, the Filipina ace will try to dominate France as one of the youngest participants at 15 years of age.
Her opponent was 32-year-old Laura Loana Paar and is listed at rank no. 190 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), a daunting task for a first-round in any pro-competition.
Eala started the match as she usually does after controlling the baseline with her big forehand power shots and a consistent volley match.
However, the Romanian veteran switched things up and attacked Eala in various ways during the second set by attacking her consistently in the net and used different kinds of spins to make Eala work.
Paar would look to continue her momentum heading into the third set but dropped her service which allowed Eala to close the match, 6-4.
This is Eala’s first-ever $25,000 tournament participation this year and is looking forward to ink her name up to the finals and make history.
