BACOLOD City – Police are looking into drug-related issues as possible motive for the killing of an alleged drug personality in Barangay Banago here last Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Joshua Zamora, 22, of Barangay Zone 5, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, who was on the watchlist of the Talisay City Police Station and identified as a street level individual, according to Police Major Richard Fajarito, head of Police Station 3.

Fajarito said the victim was found lifeless with multiple stab wounds on his body.

Police recovered an improvised tooter and a lighter from his pocket.

Prior to the discovery of his body, Fajarito said that residents heard noise in the area but they did not bother to check because of the power outage and the rain.

They saw the victim’s body hours later.

Fajarito said some residents saw a man wearing a helmet flee on board a motorcycle driven by an unidentified man.

It’s possible that the man tailed the victim and they figured into a commotion.

“Nagsaylo siya sa Banago kay kabalo siya na gina pangita siya kay identified siya na ga engage sa drugs,” Fajarito said.

Fajarito said it’s possible that a misunderstanding ensued between the victim and the suspects.

“Wala ta kabalo basi may atraso siya,” he added.
