BACOLOD City – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – Bacolod City turned over to the Bacolod City and the Provincial Health Offices last week alcohol and face masks seized from their series of operations here and in Negros Occidental for violation of Republic Act (RA) 7581 or the Price Act.

Police Chief Master Sergeant Ramiro Gocotano, officer-in-charge of CIDG-Bacolod, said 48 containers filled with 18 liters of Ethyl alcohol and nine containers filled with six liters of alcohol were given to the Provincial Health Office.

Dr. Ernell D. Tumimbang, Provincial Health Officer, received the antiseptics.

Another 59 liters of alcohol and 90 surgical masks were also turned over to the City Health Office. The medical items were received by Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli, City Health Officer.

Gocotano said that the turnover of the confiscated medical items follows the directives of their higher office during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

These will be used by frontline agencies, such as hospitals and health offices which struggled with supplies in responding to the outbreak, he added.
