ROXAS CITY, Capiz—Six more persons tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total cases in this city to 189.
The number includes 73 active cases, 96 recoveries, and 20 deaths.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas confirmed in his official statement that most of the cases were considered high-risk contacts of persons who also tested positive.
The new confirmed cases were:
Case No. 184: a 29-year-old male from Mejorada Subd., Inzo Arnaldo Village who was a close contact of a health worker of Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) who was also positive for the virus;
Case No. 185: a 40-year-old female from Mabini Street, Inzo Arnaldo Village;
Case No. 186: a 31-year-old female from San Jose St., Brgy. III;
Case No. 187: a 36-year-old female from Brgy. Lawaan but presently residing at Sitio Lawis, Baybay Roxas City. She consulted a doctor and voluntarily submitted herself to RT-PCR Test after learning that her neighbor was positive for COVID-19;
Case No. 188: a 45-year-old male from Luna Novicio St. Brgy. II. He is working in Iloilo and went home every week to Roxas City.
Case No. 189: a 62-year-old female frontliner from McKinley St.,Roxas City, Brgy. 1. She is presently confined to a private hospital here.
Meanwhile, the two who recovered from the ailment were an 80-year-old female from Brgy. Tanque and a 59-year-old male from Arcenas Subd., Brgy. Tiza.
