Culasi sitio under lockdown due to COVID-19

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Sitio Sakup of Brgy. Culasi here was placed under total lockdown after three residents were infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said on Friday that the three cases might be local transmissions.

The lockdown was decided after Dadivas met with the City Health Officer, City Disasters Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Culasi Brgy Officials and other concerned agencies Thursday night.

The confirmed positive for COVID-19 were a 69-year-old female, a 47-year-old man and a 68-year-old man who died few days ago while being treated at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Dadivas said the condition of two other COVID-19 patients, who are both confined at RMPH, are stable.

Contact tracing of persons who were exposed to the three patients is ongoing. The families of the three cases are under strict home quarantine.

Dadivas said the city government is ready to provide food and medicines to the residents affected by the lockdown so that they will no longer go out from their homes.

A liquor ban had been imposed while milk for children will also be provided.
