An officer who served Davao Region for some time will lead the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) soon.

A memorandum from the PNP national headquarters designated Police Colonel Eric Dampal to the top ICPO post.

Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police chief, said Dampal will take over ICPO on Feb 17, 2020.

Dampal replaces Police Colonel Martin Defensor Jr., who was promoted as Police Regional Office 6 (PRO)-6 chief of staff.

Dampal is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 1992. He’s a native of Bukidnon, where PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa also hails from.

Dampal used to be the director of the Compostela Valley Police Provincial Office. His previous assignments were in Police Regional Office 11 or Davao Region.

He also used to lead the Regional Training Center and the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) in PRO-11.

He once headed the Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) PNP.
