DOST launches iSkolar online platform for scholars

The post ECQ environment is the new revolution that heralds the so-called new normal.  It requires us not only to recover but also to move forward to live the new paradigm.  The Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) maximizes the use of digital technologies for communication to minimize travel and provide efficient and effective services to its clients and stakeholders.

The DOST VI launched the iSKOLAR, a web-based information system for the management of the S&T Scholarship program implementation in the region.  The online system was presented last December 2 during the S&T week celebration.

There are a total of 1,479 ongoing S&T scholars enrolled at DOST accredited universities and colleges in Region VI.  Through the use of iSKOLAR, DOST VI can provide access to the scholars in the region on the latest news and information related to the DOST Scholarship Program.  It is equipped with a system that will enable the scholars to submit requests for certificates and clearances online and likewise allow them to schedule appointment with the S&T Scholarship Section of DOST VI.  Moreover, iSKOLAR has a chat support system to cater scholars’ queries.  The system works in two simple ways – user accounts for ongoing scholars will be created by Scholarship personnel and scholars will login to the website to update their profile information, get latest updates, view announcements, access available resource materials, submit requests, and post inquiries.

DOST VI utilizes the use of online applications and platforms in order to protect the safety and well-being of both its employees and clients.  The iSKOLAR will set the grounds for an effective and efficient implementation of the DOST Scholarship Program. (DOST VI-KMU)
