Dutch national falls in NegOr gun raid

BACOLOD City – A Dutch national was arrested in a gun raid in Bais City, Negros Oriental Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect as 54-year-old Carolus Adrianus Henricus De Leeuw.

Authorities served a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Rosario Carriaga of Regional Trial Court in the city against De Leeuw for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), according to a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo).

The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headed by Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Huesca, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) – 7, Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Bais City Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Marcial Yanguas.

Police recovered during the search a .45-caliber pistol, a caliber .380 pistol, two standard magazines for caliber .45 pistol fully loaded with live ammunition, a standard magazine for caliber .380 pistol, 81 rounds of ammunition for caliber. 45 pistol, 102 rounds of ammunition for caliber .380 pistol, 20 rounds of ammunition for .9mm pistol, a brown inner holster, 45 empty shells for caliber .45 pistol, 150 empty shells for caliber .380 pistol, 50 empty shells for caliber .9mm pistol, four expired firearm license cards, two expired Permits to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR), and a black plastic firearms case.

The suspect is now in the custody of Bais City Police Station.
