BACOLOD City – A man, who was previously convicted for a drug offense, is back in jail after police busted him for possessing 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000 at Purok Kawayan, Barangay 28 here last Tuesday.

Police identified the subject as Lyle Infante, 37, of the said village, who previously worked as a delivery boy or helper.

Also confiscated by police from him were the P1,000 marked money, a digital weighing scale, P54,000 fake money, and P46.

Police Captain Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 6, said that Infante was convicted for the said offense in the lower court in 2008.

He was later released from jail after he served his sentence, according to Santillan.

Santillan said they received a report against the suspect’s alleged engagement in the illegal activity, prompting them to conduct monitoring and launched the operation.

Infante is a street level individual, the station commander added.

Aside from the illegal drugs, Santillan said they will also be probing the recovered fake money from the suspect.

This operation was conducted on the same day that a 19-year-old college student was also arrested with P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 2 here.
