The Gilas Pilipinas Women’s 3×3 squad officially wrapped up its FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup campaign with a quarterfinal finish after falling to Chinese-Taipei, 19-9, on March 31, 2024, at the Singapore Sports Hub.

Gilas couldn’t replicate its high-octane offense against Chinese-Taipei and underwent an uncharacteristic cold stretch that held them from making any scoring run.

It was an unfortunate series of events for the Filipinas after failing to buy a bucket in the first two minutes of the quarterfinal duel.

On the other hand, the representatives from Chinese-Taipei capitalized on Gilas’ cold shooting and executed their pick-and-pop plays to perfection.

With Chinese-Taipei’s early offensive avalanche, the Gilas squad found difficulty in chipping away the lead and didn’t have enough time to stage a grand comeback.

Despite the loss, Gilas still had a solid run in the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup after taking down five nations to reach the playoff round.

Gilas kicked off its campaign with a resounding 21-3 victory over Tahiti and followed it up with a 19-11 win against Maldives.

In their last game in Pool C, Gilas made sure they’ll end their preliminaries with a sweep after they got the better of Kazakhstan, 21-12.

Gilas had a good start in the main draw tournament after prevailing over Mongolia, 19-8, and earned a close 17-10 win against Malaysia.
