Grace Poli-Blair’s Glittery 70th Birthday Bash

A red carpet rolled out to welcome well-wishers to the 70th birthday dinner bash of philanthropist and society doyen Grace Poli-Blair at the plush Iloilo Convention Center.

It was a blast from the past as everyone came in their ’50s glam outfits to conform with the theme of the celebration, dahlings! Gleaming cocktails amidst the soothing saxophone and string ensemble at the lobby delighted family and closest friends of Grace Blair.

After cocktails, a delightful entrance of guests such as Grace’s former high school and college classmates, along with a dash of social sets, gamely entered the gleeful, cheering scene in the dining hall, which was awesomely bedecked in ’50s-themed decor.

A ceremonial welcome speech from Grace Poli-Blair’s ever-supportive hubby Les Blair followed, with a birthday toast to the celebrant and, of course, the blowing of the fantastic birthday cake. Grace and Les were joined by their son Angus Paulo Blair and his wife Lezamie Blair, together with their daughters Elizabeth Grace and Catherine Leslie Blair.

Guests were then feted with a sumptuous fare from the exquisite and special Mediterranean menu of Chef par Excellence Wilson Esparancilla.

After dinner, right on the world-class soundstage, a pack of excerpts from famed Broadway shows awed everyone, including performances from “South Pacific,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Cabaret,” “Chicago,” and “Grease” by the multi-talented Sidlangan dancers.

As wine kept flowing, ballroom dancing perked everyone’s spirits with Totong Villaruz and his band at the helm!
