The Iloilo City government is planning to establish four police stations in fast-growing areas.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said he plans to put up new police stations in the thickly populated districts of Jaro, Molo, and Lapuz.

“May gina-target kita one in Brgy. Bo. Obrero in Lapuz district, one in Brgy. Calumpang, Molo, and one each in Brgy. Sambag and Brgy. Bito-on in Jaro,” he announced on Monday.

The mayor said he is eyeing 10 additional police stations in the metro to be established before the end of his term.

At the moment, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) oversees six police stations each located in the districts of Iloilo City in City Proper, Jaro, La Paz, Mandurriao, Jaro, and Arevalo.

Recently, ICPO welcomed its new director Police Colonel Eric Dampal.
