BACOLOD City – Police are looking into grudges or business as possible motives behind the gun attack on an Indian national and his collector at Pusod Victan, Barangay 20, Victorias City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

The names of the 38-year-old foreigner and his 30-year-old companion were withheld.

Major Joy Ellaga, deputy chief of Victorias City Police Station, said the victims were riding a motorcycle when they slowed down in the area while tailing a truck.

Two unidentified persons then suddenly appeared and shot them.

Police recovered from the scene six fired bullets from a .45 caliber pistol.

The victims were taken to a hospital here where they underwent surgery.

Ellaga said the victims were already stable. But, police could not yet get an additional statement from them as they are still recuperating.

Ellaga said the victims’ valuables were intact, thus there was no robbery that occurred.

“Possible related sa negosyo or pautang kay gin tuyo sila na tiruhon,” Ellaga said, adding that the suspects could have patterned the activities of the victims.

Investigation is ongoing.
