It is a great honor to be part of the biggest gathering of content creators in Cebu, Influencity 2019: A Wanderlust’s Fair. To be the first Illongga featured as a content writer is a great privilege. I was given a chance to meet my fellow e-authors and readers and it was simply bliss. I couldn’t contain my excitement as I was counting down the days until the event. I put all my heart into planning my role in the entire affair.
Influencity, a 2-day activity was held at the Activity Center of Ayala Cebu City last August 17 to 18, 2019 and organized by Clover Creatives Public Relations and events. Now in its second year, Influencity aims to proselytize camaraderie amongst influential bloggers in the country and create an avenue for them to interact with their readers and share their best practices with them. All in all, there were 18 featured content writers, 9 from the Metropolis of Cebu and 9 others from the cities of Manila, Iloilo, Davao and General Santos.
The gathering is open to everyone, not only to Fashionistas, beauty aficionados, and wanderlusts. It welcomes everyone looking for great deals, people who want to know how to be an influencer or how to use social media responsibly and effectively.
Each content creator was given a booth where they can sell their stylish preloved clothes, give fashion and beauty tips, as well as share the secret of their success to aspiring bloggers dreaming to be in their shoes. Bargain hunters looking for pre-owned fashionable outfits will be ecstatic with the wide array of trendy apparel at this fashion bazaar.
Everyone found the “TRAVEL TALK” allocutions interesting and helpful. Mr. Aaron Parcon and Ms. Charo Logarto Lagaman, representatives from Cebu Pacific, hosted the “Travel Talk: Life’s a Beach” and the “Seat Sale Hacks: How to Score Low Fare”, respectively. Cebu Travel Bloggers gave tips on Basic Food Photography while the Fashion Bloggers talked about traveling in style. Members of Cebu’s content creators discussed the essential gadgets we need for travel. Mr. Marco Diala’s talk on Instagram 101: #TravelFeedGoals provided easy lessons on making your pictures Instagram-worthy. “The Art Budget Backpacking’ by Mr. Miguel Abas, Jr., gave us tips on traveling cheap.
Besides Cebu Pacific, other event partners also supported the event and entertained guests in their own booths; Sky Cable Fiber, Food Panda and Pancake House were among the few who offered food tasting and mini-games in their game booths such as Food Panda’s Spin the Wheel where you can get free Food Panda merchandise.
Cebu Pacific gave out International Round Trip tickets to a lucky participant. Goodie bags from generous event partners and sponsors including Facebook, Instagram and CBTL were also given away daily to those who joined the online raffle.
Influencity is not just about fashion and travel, but I think it’s mostly about sharing your experience and inspiring people. I have been truly blessed that I was given a chance to do so. It was an escapade every content creator dreams of.
