BACOLOD CITY – Zoe Clarisse Limson, the crowd favorite at the Lin-ay sang Negros pageant Friday, who placed as first runner-up, has called for supporters to accept the outcome and respect the judges’ decision.

“I understand that many may have conflicting feelings after last night (April 19, 2024), but it was not my night and it’s okay,” said Limson, who represented Cauayan town and quickly became the audience’s choice during the event and in the live stream.

Limson lost the title to Kyla Rose Romarate from Victorias City, who was crowned Lin-ay sang Negros 2024.

“Lin-ay sang Negros is deeply rooted in the values of sisterhood and acceptance. With this platform, we uplift and empower women. I am grateful to all of you for your never-ending support! In light of the recent events, please, let us not spread hate and negativity,” Limson stated on her Facebook page, responding to comments claiming she should have won.

She recognized the victor’s merits: “Kyla Rose Romarate of Victorias is worthy of the Lin-ay sang Negros 2024 title. She is a strong, competent, and compassionate woman, a true Babayeng Negrosanon! Most especially in her pursuit of a safer Negros for the under-represented sector, our animals.”

“Let us be gentle with our words and remember that at our very core, kindness does not cost us anything,” Limson added.

Earning the nickname “hakot award,” Limson secured six of the ten corporate awards. Both she and Romarate were named Muse sang Media for their respective municipality and city categories during the press and talent presentation on April 10, 2024.

Limson also clinched the Best in Swimwear title, while Romarate shined as Best in Gown. They both triumphed in the Best in Festival Costume for their categories.

Other winners include Patricia Ysabel as second runner-up (Ilog), Roshyn Kate Jamantoc as third runner-up (Talisay City), and Gelisa Marie Nangan as fourth runner-up (Hinigaran).
