After a 115-44 convincing win by Jack Animam and the Shih Hsin University in their first game, the squad followed it up with another romping victory after demolishing Southeast University of Science and Technology, 135-20, in the 2020 University Basketball Association.
It was a nightmare for the opposing team going up against Animam after the towering Filipina bullied the interior defense much like she did in their first game.
The former Gilas Pilipinas women’s superstar tallied 19 points, missed only three out of her 12 attempts, grabbed 14 rebounds and added two blocks.
With a quest to defend their championship, Animam’s impressive stint in their first two games presented a strong case for another trophy.
The addition of Animam improved their defensive efficiency as both opposing teams failed to score more than 50 against them with Taiwan University only managing 44 while Southeast University only scored 20.
Furthermore, Shih Hsin registered 24 total steals against Southeast University and limited them to only two points in the first quarter.
Animam will look to continue her double-double streak in the league as they are set for a showdown against Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
